Our first Grade students practice reading and writing in English by working with different materials such as markers, play-doh, and bottle caps, which allow them to organize and from words as well as practice their pronunciation and improve their fine motor skills with different learning experiences.

At Andino, our students learn in english through language immersion and the Jolly Phonics programme, which sets the basis for bilingualism in our students.

In high school, prior knowledge has the objective that our students can recognize and share theor previous ideas through active participation, to later contrast it with the knowledge that is shared in the classroom, consolidating in this way a significant and differentiated learning.

At Andino school, our students are constantly motivated to develop their critical thinking through various learning experiences that invite them to reflect and build concepts.

In an enriching visit, our second grade students got to know the High Mountain Unit in Cusco.

Our students were inquirers and rosk – takers when recreating and understanding the daily work of police officers.

The purpose of this valuable experience was the consolidating of their learning regarding the concept of community, and the functions or roles that community members perform.

We thank the chief of the peruvian National Police, Edilfredo Nuñez Silva, Head of the high mountain rescue unit in Cusco and his team, as they gladly shared their experiences, thechniques and equipment frequently used in the rescues they perform every day with our primary school students.

En dicha experiencia, nuestros estudiantes entendieron y reforzaron los conceptos de trabajo en equipo, solidaridad y cooperación al pintar cada uno, una parte diferente del rompecabeza, para luego unir y ver en el resultado dicha obra de arte.

En elfoque de aprendizaje basado en el juego, involucra a los estudiantes en el desarrollo de la creatividad y de sus propios conceptos, y los motiva a ser audaces y a tener confianza en sí mismos.

As part of the Art course, Fourth Grade students made a puzzle of Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous painting: La Gioconda.

IIn this experience, our students understood and reinforced the attitudes of teamwork, solidarity and cooperation by painting each one a different part of the puzzle, to later put all the pieces together  to see the final artwork.

Game-based learning aproach engages students in developing creativity and their own concepts, and encourages them to be risk – takers  and self-confident.

En esta experiencia, hicieron uso del trazo y volumen para representar un bodegón geométrico en vivo.

En Andino, el curso de arte tiene un enfoque diferenciado, ya que la secuenciación de conocimientos adquiridos en la secundaria, se consolida en el Programa del Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional.

Our Seventh Grade students had their first experience of artistic drawing as part of the first unit of the Art course.

In this experience, they used line and volume to represent a live geometric still life.

At Andino, the art course has a differentiated approach, since the sequencing of knowledge acquired in high school is consolidated in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

In a symbolic and emotional ceremony, we awarded the IB Diploma to our students who concluded the Diploma Programme last year and who are currently in Cusco, as the other students of our sixth Prom are now in other cities and abroad.
At ANDINO, we are proud to be part of this achievement in their lives, we are convinced that what they have learned through the attributes of the IB learner profile and the philosophy of our school will be a pillar in their personal and academic growth.

In an English learning experience, as part of the Unit of Inquiry:

How We Organize Ourselves, and the topic/theme Cooperation and Solidarity, our fourth grade students proved to be reflective and good communicators, as they received the visit of our History teacher from the secondary level, who shared his knowledge about cooperative work in the Inca Empire through examples of the mita, minka and ayni.

At Andino, our approach to inquiry ensures that our students not only learn English, but learn through it.
