Compartimos con ustedes una selección de cortometrajes sobre la naturaleza del tiempo, realizados por las y los estudiantes del primer año del Programa del Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional.

Se trata de un proyecto interdisciplinario, que se ha realizado durante la Segunda Unidad (además de avanzar otros contenidos de las Guías oficiales del Programa del Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional de cada uno de los cursos, experiencias de CAS o el debate Modelo Karl Popper en Teoría del conocimiento), y que ha permitido que las y los estudiantes obtengan aprendizajes significativos.

Estos proyectos se encuentran relacionados con la Declaración de Principios de la filosofía educativa del IB, cuya visión es formar a nuestros niños, adolescentes y jóvenes para que sean agentes de cambio para un mundo mejor, desde una perspectiva intercultural y ética, reconociendo lo que nos une como seres humanos.

Además, a través de ellos, se incentivan los atributos del Perfil de la comunidad del Bachillerato Internacional, como pensadores, reflexivos o buenos comunicadores, además de habilidades de investigación. Por último, se ha reforzado el carácter interdisciplinario de nuestro currículo educativo y articulado a través de Teoría del conocimiento, Monografía y CAS.

Algunas preguntas que indagaron para realizar estos cortometrajes fueron:

• ¿Existe el tiempo?
• ¿Existe como algo independiente a nosotros o es un concepto mental? ¿Es absoluto o relativo? Un mes, una hora, un minuto… ¿tienen la misma duración para cada ser humano o depende de las circunstancias? 
• ¿Cuál es el concepto del tiempo desde un punto de vista científico y matemático?
• ¿Cuál es la perspectiva de diferentes culturas respecto al tiempo?

SHORT FILMS ON THE NATURE OF TIME

Here is a selection of short films on the nature of time, made by the first year students of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.

It is an interdisciplinary project, which has been carried out during the Second Unit (in addition to advancing other components of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in each course, CAS experiences or the Karl Popper Model Debate in Theory of Knowledge), and allowed students to obtain significant learning.

These projects are related to the Declaration of Principles of the IB educational philosophy, with a vision to train our children, adolescents and young people to be agents of change for a better world, from an intercultural and ethical perspective, recognizing how we can unite as human beings.

In addition, through the projects, the attributes of the International Baccalaureate Community Profile are promoted, such as being thinkers and good communicators, in addition to research skills. 

Finally, the interdisciplinary nature of our educational curriculum has been reinforced and articulated through Theory of Knowledge, Monographs and CAS.

Some questions that were investigated to make these short films were:

• Is there time?
• Does it exist as something independent of us or is it a mental concept? Is it absolute or relative? A month, an hour, a minute … do they have the same duration for each human being or does it depend on the circumstances?
• What is the concept of time from a scientific and mathematical point of view?
