En la primera dinámica llamada “El alacrán”, todo el salón se dividió en dos grupos, en columnas. Cada grupo escogió el líder que guiaría su columna. Esta dinámica consiste en coger las colas de los y las concursantes del equipo contrario, pero solo pueden hacerlo las cabezas que guían, sin soltarse. Una vez que se pierde la cola, el equipo gana.

La segunda dinámica “Pasa la cuerda”, consiste en colocarse en círculo, entrelazar los brazos y pasar a través de todos y todas una cuerda, sin soltarse.

Ambas dinámicas ayudan a que los y las estudiantes aprendan a relacionarse entre sí, a entender cómo se sienten ante dificultades y a ser más asertivos y asertivas en la comunicación. Además, se trata de desarrollar no solo la empatía y el control de las emociones, sino reconocer errores y aprender de estos.

This week, Tenth Grade carried out two activities to reinforce teamwork, as well as the managing emotions.

In the first activity, called “The Scorpion”, the class was divided into two lines of students. Each group chose the leader that would guide their line. Then, without letting go, the student in the beginning of each line had to tag “the tail” of the last students in the opposing line.

In the second activity, “Pass the Rope”, students got in a circle and interlaced their arms. Then, they had to move a rope without letting go.

Both activities helped students learn to get along, understand how they feel when faced with challenges, and be more assertive when communicating. In addition, these activities helped students develop empathy,  control of their emotions, as well as recognize mistakes and learn from them.
