Using the Jolly Phonics methodology, Kinder students learned about the “s” sound in English. After completing this lesson, students learned the song, “The Snake in the Grass,” listened to a story related to this theme and colored the lyrics to the song in their notebooks.

This methodology teaches the 42 sounds of English and the alphabet. All lessons are taught through multisensory activities which are designed in a fun and engaging way.

The Jolly Phonics program consists of a systematic teaching of phonics and spelling with fun actions, stories and songs. One effective way to learn reading in English is to use word games that help children learn in a fun way. Children can remember things easier and faster, jut like when they are working in pairs and learn from one another while having fun. This time, our Pre Kinder children played the well-known game, “Rock, Paper, Scissors!” to spell phonetically and practice reading Consonant-Vowel-Consonant words, such as “mat, pan, sat, and pin”.
