En esta actividad del curso de inglés, primero indagaron para luego interactuar y crear diálogos sobre la diversidad de ecosistemas en su país; de ese modo desarrollaron sus habilidades de comunicación en Inglés.

El curso de inglés en Secundaria se enfoca en consolidar el bilingüismo conseguido en la Primaria. A partir de diversos temas de interés, nuestros estudiantes hacen suyo este idioma.

Based on UN Objective No. 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, Eighth grade students conducted an investigation on water-related ecosystems, including information on forests, mountains, wetlands, rivers, aquifers, and lakes. These play an essential role in storing fresh water and maintaining water quality.

In this activity in the English course, they first investigated and then interacted and created dialogues about the diversity of ecosystems in their country; in this way they developed their communication skills in English.

The English course in Secondary focuses on consolidating the bilingualism achieved in Primary. Based on various topics of interest, our students make this language their own.

A PARTIR del tema transdisciplinario “Cómo nos expresamos”, un grupo de estudiantes del sexto grado, comparten sus conocimientos sobre el lenguaje gestual y lenguaje de señas; ello como parte del desarrollo y acción de su proyecto para el PYP exhibition , que se desarrollará en unos días.

Through the IB Primary Years Program, our students not only seek their own answers; Through inquiry and skill development, they also ask their own questions.

BASED on the transdisciplinary theme “How we express ourselves”, a group of sixth grade students shared their knowledge of sign language; this was part of the development and action of their project for the PYP exhibition, which will take place in a few days.

Andino Cusco International School celebrates these responsible and appropriate actions that our students take as a result of their learning.

Con esta experiencia se logró el objetivo de aprendizaje, a través de la integración de conceptos geométricos vistos a lo largo de la unidad (rectas, polígonos regulares, sólidos y figuras geométricas).

A través de exposiciones, nuestros estudiantes evidenciaron también su avance en relación a la expresión oral, empleando una correcta vocalización, tono adecuado y diversidad de recursos no verbales como los gestos y movimientos.

As part of the Sixth Unit “How we express ourselves” in the Mathematics course, Third Grade students made material representations, thus integrating various mathematical learning.

With this experience the learning objective was achieved through the integration of geometric concepts seen throughout the unit (lines, regular polygons, solids and geometric figures).

Through exhibitions, our students also demonstrated their progress in relation to oral expression, using correct vocalization, appropriate tone and a diversity of non-verbal resources such as gestures and movements.

As part of the Central Idea: “People tell stories in different ways for different purposes,” First Grade students made a television with recycled materials to create and tell stories in a dynamic and fun way, in Art class.

In this valuable learning experience, students made use of various materials to express their ideas by translating them into a graphic story through artistic language, thus developing their creative, thinking and self-management skills.

At Andino, our research base promotes play in order to learn.

“Construyendo Valores para un Cusco Mejor” es una campaña de sensibilización, impulsada por ambas instituciones, con el objetivo de difundir productos artísticos y culturales como fotografías, videos, lecturas, entre otros, elaborados por nuestros estudiantes de Secundaria y del Programa del Diploma, los cuales reflejan un pensamiento divergente, crítico y creativo sobre temas trascendentes de la vida en sociedad, en el contexto de la conmemoración del Bicentenario de la Independencia del Perú como un valioso aporte a la sociedad cusqueña.

En Andino School, formamos ciudadanos responsables que proponen y desarrollan acciones para ser agentes de cambio para un mundo mejor desde las aulas.

Andino Cusco International School and the Public Ministry represented by the Second Transitory Provincial Prosecutor for Crime Prevention Cusco, joined forces by signing a strategic alliance last Wednesday, August 24, in order to share a campaign with citizens that promotes a culture of peace, life free of violence and healthy coexistence.

“Building Values ​​for a Better Cusco” is an awareness campaign, promoted by both institutions, with the aim of disseminating artistic and cultural products such as photographs, videos, and readings, among others, prepared by our Secondary and Diploma Program students. The products reflect a divergent, critical and creative thinking on transcendent issues of life in society, in the context of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru as a valuable contribution to Cusco society.

At Andino School, we train responsible citizens who propose and develop actions to be agents of change for a better world from the classroom.

We thank the Public Ministry for being an open window to citizens and for sharing the work of our students. We hope to continue working together for education and values ​​in Peru.

As part of the Third Learning Unit of the English course, the First Grade students developed the interactive activity “Me on the map”. In this activity they answered the question, “Are we part of the community?”, developing their sense of belonging and citizenship and identifying the place where they live, their city and their country.

In this experience, literacy skills were reinforced by developing different English language skills that were learned instinctively, making learning this language as natural as possible for students.

En este espacio, los estudiantes de Primaria ampliaron sus conocimientos sobre este atributo pilar del Bachillerato Internacional, a fin de lograr identificar su importancia, y reconocer la relación directa que cumple el uso del formato APA en este aspecto.

Tenth grade students shared valuable information about academic integrity with the sixth graders as part of their CAS course activities.

In this space, Primary students expanded their knowledge about this pillar attribute of the International Baccalaureate, in order to identify its importance, and recognize the direct relationship that the use of the APA format fulfills in this regard.

We congratulate the initiative of our students, since through these activities we strengthen the community bond through virtual classes.

una experiencia educativa muy valiosa que los involucra en el estudio y la discusión de temas globales, y fomenta el desarrollo de diversas habilidades a lo largo de sus vidas: investigación, redacción, oratoria, resolución de conflictos, acuerdos y cooperación, así como el desarrollo de Atributos del Perfil de la Comunidad de Aprendizaje del Bachillerato Internacional.

The Model United Nations (MUN) debate is a simulation of the UN General Assembly, in which students take the role of delegates from different countries, to reach agreements to resolve a global problem.

On this occasion, students in the First Year of the Diploma Program  discussed the wage gap between men and women in the workplace. They were participants in a very valuable educational experience that involved them in the study and discussion of global issues, and encouraged the development of various skills throughout their lives: research, writing, public speaking, conflict resolution, agreements and cooperation, as well as the development of Attributes of the International Baccalaureate Learning Community Profile.

At Andino, Diploma Program students become aware of themselves as thinkers in the “Theory of Knowledge” course, reflecting on the nature of knowledge and the way in which they know what they claim to know through discussions, debates and arguments.

Our first-year Diploma Program students participated in a knowledge auction. This experience consisted of receiving an amount of fictitious money, to later bid on knowledge questions they wished to answer; being inquiring, bold and open-minded, as well as encouraging us to learn more about the complexity of knowledge.
